Strutters recognized as National Champions

Iconic display

The Bridge City High School Strutters recently won the title of Team National Champions in the medium team category. They were presented their National Award jackets at Monday nights school board meeting.

David Self of David Self Ford in Orange and Winnie donated the entire cost of National Award jackets for the eighteen Strutters who were members of the competition team.

The stunning black jackets are trimmed in white piping and have red and gold lettering across the back of the jacket. The Strutters name is embroidered on the front left side.

The girls competed against long time rival Odessa Permian.

"When it was announced that the Strutters had defeated Odessa Permian, both schools were in a state of shock", said sponsor Cathy Riley.

She recognized all of the Strutters who won individual awards at the recent competition. They were Sarah English, Allison Fitts, Katelyn Norman, Caitlin Villanoueva, and Katelyn Broussard.

Riley was awarded the Director Award of Excellence. This award was given to two of the 120 directors present.
